Run Free, Murphy
Written by: Patty Taylor

9/26/94-10/7/04

(Rescued from a Fontana, Kansas Puppy Mill on 7/18/04)

You are now free

From the horrible puppy mill you came from

From the callous people in your previous life

From the cage you lived in for 10 years.

From the loneliness and pain

Whole and healthy once again and

Free from it all.

But, since you were rescued, you knew

The love of people who truly cared

The feel of gentle, loving hands stroking your fur

The taste of good, nourishing food

The feel of a warm bed and toys of your own

The warmth of grass beneath your paws

Lovely strolls with Lady and Julie

The gentle hands of caring vets

The sweetness of freedom.

And now as you go on your journey alone

Please remember those who loved you

And only wanted the best for you.

Part of our hearts will travel with you.

We tried so hard to save you but it wasn’t meant to be

Forgive us if we ever hurt you in any way

We never meant to hurt you

We only wanted you to have the life you deserved.

We will miss you forever and will always

remember your sweet nature and your

beautiful face.  You have touched many,

many lives and we will never forget you.

We will see you again at the Bridge, we promise.

Run free, Murphy.

All my love to you, Murphy, you sweet golden boy.
